Subordinated to the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Protection in Hanover the NNA is situated in the lovely Luneburg Heath. Our task is the promotion and implementation of the aims of nature conservation by education, training, public relations work and research. mehr

BalkaNatureNet (BNN) – a Vibrant Expert Network for Thriving Nature in the Balkan Region and Adjacent Countries

The project "BalkaNatureNet" started at the Alfred Toepfer Academy for Nature Conservation in February 2016. It aims at initiating a transnational expert network for nature conservation and education for sustainable development in the Balkan/SEE region. mehr

Voluntary Ecological Year

Voluntary Ecological Year (FÖJ)

The Voluntary Ecological Year (Freiwillige Ökologische Jahr - FÖJ) is an ecological education year for young people. Volunteers work for one year in various environmental protection and nature conservation institutions or in education for sustainable development (ESD). mehr

Research at the NNA

Since its foundation in 1981 the Academy has done “research for nature conservation”. The focus is on the field of practice-orientated, interdisciplinary research and its coordination for certain practical issues of nature conservation. mehr
